Consent

Location:

TBD

Date and Time:

TBD

For: children ages 6 - 10 and their (foster) parents, caregivers and teachers. Please note: This course is VIDEO ONLY. To purchase a copy of the Body Smart: Right from the start workbook, go here.

Kids learn, throughout this video, to identify the types of touches they like/don't like, how to set boundaries to maintain their own bubble spaces and how to decline touches they don't want in a respectful way.

Body science, although part of the school curriculum, is not always taught. This puts our kids at risk of sexual abuse and exploitation.

This video and book are ideal for before/after school providers, primary school teachers, (foster) parents and caregivers. The video can be broken down into many small lessons and will reference different activities to do in the Body Smart: Right From the Start book. This lesson is fun and entertaining!

Peer to Peer

Sexual Harm

Location:

on Zoom

Date and Time:

TBD

Over 70% of child sexual abuse is committed by peers, with schools being the most common setting for these incidents. Despite fears, most youth who engage in harmful sexual behavior do not reoffend or grow up to abuse others.

This workshop is designed for anyone who works with or cares for children and youth—educators, parents, social workers, and more. It covers the prevalence and causes of peer-to-peer sexual harm, how to use appropriate language, how to recognize healthy versus concerning sexual behavior, and factors like age of onset, risk factors, and high-risk locations. It also explores why children often don’t disclose abuse, the barriers to seeking help, and provides practical tools and resources.

Puberty: Coming to a Body Near You (Lesson #1)

We all have a body. It's ok to learn about it, talk about it, and ask questions about it. In this workshop we will discuss private body part names, as well as when and where these scientific names should be used. We will also explore the physical, emotional, and social changes of puberty. Be prepared to laugh.

With fun, meaningful and hands-on activities, our children can learn to be open and confident with these sensitive topics. This workshop will be entertaining, engaging and informative.
